Tomorrow morning I am to be operated on my vocal cords. Consequently I will lose the ability to speak for a week.
In honor of this experience I am presenting you with a clip of 4'33" by John Cage, a piece of music compesed entirely of silence.
While the work was initially composed for the piano, this is its full orchestral rendition.

ay ay ay. Why? Nodes? I hope it all goes well.
This is the only song by John Cage that my dad knows. He always mentions it when he rants about how masturbatory modern art is. It's always about 3 minutes into the discussion, you can set your watch to it.
Feel better Yuv! I have no doubt that in a week you'll be back to your old self, yelling belligerently at random pedestrians while wearing your favorite kimono.
I actually really love this piece. I mean, if you assume that art must be humorless, then yes, it's bologne. But art and humor complement each other. The way the audience cracks up when the conductor wipes his forehead is a token to the success of the performence.
